AccuSharp® International joins the fight against breast cancer through the donations made on the sale of every NBCF PINK (010C) AccuSharp® Knife and Tool Sharpener.

According to the American Cancer Society Facts & Figures for 2007, breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among American women of all ages and is second only to lung cancer in cancer deaths. One (1) in every eight (8) women will develop breast cancer within her lifetime. In 2008, an estimated 178,500 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the United States and more than 40,000 will die from the disease. An estimated 2,030 men will be diagnosed and 450 are expected to die of breast cancer in 2008. The NBCF mission is “to save lives by increasing awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing mammograms for those in need.” To address the mission, the NBCF provided more than 22,000 free mammograms for underinsured women in American in 2007, and the Foundation also supports cancer research, primarily through a relationship with the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, and research programs at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.
